Prog4biz Software Inc. is a Canadian software company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. We develop BookitLab, a lab management software platform used by scientific core facilities, universities, research laboratories, hospitals, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and R&D organizations worldwide.
With more than 20 years of software development experience and nearly two decades focused on research environments, we build flexible tools for managing research equipment, facilities, services, users, assets, requests, training, billing and scientific workflows.

Our Story
Prog4biz began in 2005 as Prog4biz Software Solutions Ltd., building custom software for organizations with complex operational needs.
In 2007, working closely with scientists, researchers and core facility managers, we saw a gap: conventional scheduling and business systems weren't designed for how research actually runs. Facilities needed more than a booking calendar. They needed one system to manage scientific equipment, users, training, services, billing, maintenance and specialized research workflows.
That year we launched Bookit. As the platform grew more focused on laboratories and research facilities, it was renamed BookitLab in 2011. In 2015, Prog4biz Software Inc. was incorporated in Canada, expanding our presence in North America.
Today, BookitLab supports hundreds of universities, research institutes, core facilities, hospitals, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations around the world.

Our mission is to make complex scientific research operations easier to manage. We build technology that reduces administrative work and connects the equipment, people, services, assets and workflows behind modern research, so researchers can spend their time on research instead of administration.

Customer feedback has shaped the platform since its earliest days and continues to guide its roadmap, which is why each facility can configure BookitLab to its own rules and processes.

Before BookitLab became our primary focus, Prog4biz developed software for organizations across many industries, including internationally recognized brands such as DHL and Sesame Street. That broader engineering experience laid the foundation for BookitLab.
Today, Prog4biz operates through Prog4biz Software Inc. (Canada, incorporated 2015) and Prog4biz Software Solutions Ltd. (established 2005). From Vancouver and with our international team, we develop and support BookitLab for research organizations worldwide.
